Paramount+ series Happy Face, with Annaleigh Ashford as the grownup daughter of the Happy Face serial killer, started filming in Vancouver this week.

Happy Face (Dennis Quaid) is an incarcerated serial killer who is Melissa’ (Annaleigh Ashford)’s once-beloved father. After decades of no contact, he finally finds a way to force himself back into his daughter’s life.
In a race against the clock, Melissa must find out if an innocent man is going to be put to death for a crime her father committed. Throughout, she discovers the impact her father had on his victims’ families and must face a reckoning of her own identity.
James Wolk plays Melissa’s husband Ben , a bank manager by day, marathon-trainer by night, who knows that his wife’s father is the serial killer but thought they’d left the trauma behind them.
Tamera Tomakill as a true crime segment producer on The Dr. Greg Show, the show where Melissa works as a makeup artist.
Khiyla Aynne as Melissa and Ben’s 15-year-old daughter who doesn’t know about her serial killer grandfather and thinks her mother is off on a simple business trip.
Benjamin Mackey as Melissa and Ben’s 9-year-old son Max, who like his older sister doesn’t know about their serial killer grandfather,
David Harewood as Dr. Greg, the star of a popular daytime health and talk show The Dr. Greg Show., who learns of Melissa’s relationship to the Happy Face serial killer.
The series comes from Robert and Michelle King’s King-Sized Productions and is inspired by Melissa Moore’s real life story, her autobiography Shattered Silence and the Happy Face podcast.
