TRON: ARES Closed Vancouver’s Cambie Bridge Thursday & Friday Nights

Luckily not the only bridge out of town — Tron: Ares director Joachim Rønning.

Tron: Ares went off The Grid this March for some big shoots in downtown Vancouver:

Turning the Bentall 5 tower into ENCOM headquarters.

And BC Place into the site of ENCOM’s Paranoia-Con for its Space Paranoids VII video game.

Then late last week, the third movie in Disney’s Tron franchise closed the Cambie Street Bridge overnight on Thursday and Friday nights to shoot a “simulated vehicle accident”.

In Tron: Ares, Jared Leto stars as an emerging sentient program Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.

Tron 3 has been shooting in Vancouver since mid-January.

Closed Cambie Street Bridge overnight on March 14th & 15th.
