VIRGIN RIVER Season 6: Flashback to Jessica Rothe & Callum Kerr as Mel’s Parents

Before Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack (Martin Henderson)’s epic Virgin River romance, Mel’s late mother Sarah fell in love with a man from the same Northern California town.

Season 6 of Netflix’s popular BC-filmed series will tease the origin story of Mel’s biological parents, with a flashback in episode 2 of them meeting in the early 1970s when Callum Kerr’s musician Everett gives Jessica Rothe’s free spirit activist Sarah a ride in his VW van.

At the end of season 5, Mel and Jack spent Christmas looking for and finding her biological father Everett Reid (John Allen Nelson).

“You look so much like your mom. Seeing you just broke my heart all over again. I didn’t know what to say . . . I am your father. And I’m here now.”

Season 6 will uncover secret’s from Mel’s father’s past as well as “transporting us to the magic and mystique of Virgin River in the 1970s” which might lead to a prequel series.
