Netflix’s Top Films & Shows: 2nd Half of 2024

Taron Egerton’s TSA thriller Carry-On and season 2 of Korean phenomenon Squid Game topped Netflix’s most-watched films and shows in the What We Watched report for July to December 2024. 

These are clear front-runners, considering Carry-On dropped December 5th and amassed 275 million hours and 137 million views in 27 days and Squid Game season 2 dropped December 26th and racked up 620 million hours and 87 million views in just 6 days.

Season 6 of BC-filmed Virgin River, featuring Mel and Jack’s wedding, was another late-in-the-year release, dropping December 19th and amassing 157 million hours and 19 million views in 13 days.

Others:

Toronto-filmed limited series The Madness, starring Colman Domingo, dropped November 28th = 229 million hours / 35 million views.

Toronto-filmed The Umbrella Academy season 4 dropped August 8th =: 155 million hours / 27 million views.
