BC-filmed romance Virgin River gets an early season 8 renewal from Netflix before season 7 premieres.
The global streamer’s longest-running scripted series follows Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge), a nurse and midwife who moves to the small California town Virgin River from Los Angeles, after her husband Mark dies. There she falls for restaurant/bar owner and former marine Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) and after a lot of complications the pair got married in the season 6 finale.
What’s coming in season 7?
Season 7 will see Mel and Jack’s newlywed beginnings as a married couple and push them further along their path to parenthood. Will Mel and Jack adopt Marley’s baby?
And there are plenty of other relationships to explore: Preacher (Colin Lawrence) and Kaia (Kandyse McClure not pictured below); Doc (Tim Matheson) and Hope (Annette O’Toole) and Lizzie (Sarah Dugdale) and Denny (Kai Bradbury).
And the Brie-Mike-Brady love triangle continues, too. Mike proposed to Brie in the finale after making it clear he knew about Brie hooking up with her ex Brady. We don’t know how Brie responds. We do know how Lark responds — she swindles Brady out of his money and takes off.
And what about the big season 6 cliffhanger? Jack walks into his ex Charmaine’s house to ask why she skipped the wedding and finds something horrifying off camera. Is Charmaine missing or murdered? Are the twins OK? Season 7 picks up two hours later, with no time jump.
Season 7 wrapped production just two and a half weeks ago in Vancouver.

It’s hard to know but the town of Virgin River will handle it.
