Fifty Shades of Grey started out slow on its first day of filming in Vancouver yesterday with a scene of Seattle billionaire Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) serving tea to young Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) at Rainier Provisions in the historic Rainier Hotel in Gastown. Then production moved up to The Paper Hound Bookshop on West Pender Street to film a scene of Chistian Grey (Dornan) buying Ana [UPDATE: Thomas Hardy first editions because she said she liked books]. I’m sure avid readers of E. L. James’s best-selling book can tell me which ones.
The Paper Hound is the newest used book store in this area, curated by a couple who met while working in nearby MacLeod’s.
He bought her 3 volumes of Tess of the D’Urbervilles, first edition 🙂
