SHOOT: BATES MOTEL Final Season’s Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) in Fort Langley as White Pine Bay

Norman Bates away from the house with his dead mother in it and the motel? Bates Motel began filming its fifth and final season on September 16th in metro Vancouver. What happened with mother-and-son Norma and Norman Bates (Vera Farmiga and Freddie Highmore)? Last season in the penultimate episode Forever, Norman killed his mother in what he thought would be permanent carbon-monoxide-induced sleep for both, but he survived. In total denial and desperate to get her back, he dug up her corpse and brought Norma home. Mother will live on in season five, but only in Norman’s head. Meanwhile, Norma’s love Romero (Nestor Carbonell) is in jail but determined to bring Norman to justice for Norma’s death.

So what’s Norman doing in White Pine Bay? Bates Motel filmed on Glover Road in Fort Langley last night, one of several locations used as its White Pine Bay, Oregon.

With Austin Nichols on set. Is he Sam Loomis, the name of Marion Crane’s boyfriend in Alfred Hitchcock’s classic 1960 film Psycho? In the Bates Motel version, pop star Rihanna will play Marion Crane and Isabelle McNally is Madeleine Loomis, a young Norma Bates lookalike. Will this be a love triangle gone wrong — Marion, Sam and Madeleine?

I still hope j get just one chance to meet either of them. 😔 really hope they’ll be back there again in Fort Langley! Especially after October 8!
