That’s a wrap on the fifth and final season of the effed-up super hero and political satire The Boys in Toronto.

Creator and showrunner Eric Kripke shared his thoughts from The Seven’s Vought Tower conference room set, looking up at the Homelander (Antony Starr) mural.

This is the last time I’ll ever be on this set. It’ll be torn down soon. It’s bittersweet, but my primary feeling is gratitude. We have the best cast, the best crew, the most fun story to write, and something that is impossible to predict: the right timing.

You wait your whole career to have maybe two of those things, if you’re lucky. We got all of them. To [The Boys] family: thank you, I love you all. To the fans: thanks for watching, can’t wait for you to see the grand finale. That’s a wrap. – Eric Kripke.

The final day of shooting comes a week and a half after the wrap party.

Production on the final season began seven months ago with a cast dinner.

What’s The Boys about?

A group of vigilantes – called The Boys – come together to take down the superhero company Vought and their top :”supes” The Seven

Season 4 ended with Homelander (Antony Starr) in control of the new U.S. President and an army of supes. This season will be the last chance for Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and the Boys to defeat Homelander.

The show is a serialized story that is about [Billy] Butcher and Homelander slowly crashing into each other, and the show doesn’t work without either of those. So, you just can’t keep that going on forever, you have to let them smash into each other. — Eric Kripke to The Hollywood Reporter.
