The CW ordered sci-fi post-apocalyptic pilot The 100 to series today. It’s set 97 years after nuclear war wipes out life on Earth. A space station containing the only human survivors sends 100 juvenile delinquents back to Earth to see whether the planet can be re-colonized. As you’d expect, The 100 has a big cast: Eliza Taylor, Isaiah Washington (Grey’s Anatomy), Henry Ian Cusick (Lost), Marie Avgeropoulos, Paige Turco and Thomas McDonell. But I don’t know much more about it because the bulk of production was on a huge closed set in Langley.
The other filmed-in-Vancouver CW pilot Blink — about a girl whose father is in a coma — was reportedly well received but not picked up because it doesn’t fit The CW brand.
