Psych started filming [eight] episodes for season eight of the USA Network show in Vancouver yesterday. Dule Hill tweeted a fun photo of Psych’s crime-fighting quartet — James Roday’s ”psychic” Shawn Spencer, Dule Hill’s BFF Burton “Gus” Guster, Timothy Omundson’s Santa Barbara police detective Carlton “Lassie” Lassiter and Maggie Lawson’s detective Juliet O’Hara — at their police station set in North Shore Studios in the morning.
Much later in the day, Psych filmed inside the heritage Kensington Place in the West End, with Timothy Omundson’s Carleton “Lassie” Lassiter spotted on set. Could this be the Carleton and Marlowe love nest? Maybe not. The twenty-two European-style condos in this renovated 1912 building shouldn’t be in the newly-married couple’s price range, with their 9-foot ceilings, Corinthian pillars and Rococo moldings.

Thank you so much for posting photos on the first day of Psych Season 8! I’m pretty sure this is the last time we will all have the joy of watching them film (even though they are going stronger than ever 🙂 I’ll be looking in throughout the coming months to check in to see any more on-set photos you post on this wonderful show. Heard it may be the last season so I will try to get more on-set photos. Had better luck finding them in season six than last year but have met some Psycho-s here who can help.

Is there anywhere a list of days and locations of the shoots?
There is no public list of days and locations of shoots. And even Psych crew are only two or three weeks ahead. Writers write the episode. Scouts look for the locations that work for the script. Arrangements are made. Permits obtained. Unless a filming notice is spotted ahead of time, we have to find them either setting up or already shooting.
Do you know when the last days of filming will be? We’re heading up to Vancouver at the end of July. The family isn’t planning on stalking the crew but if it will still be filming we’ll be on the lookout.
Last day of filming is scheduled to be July 30th and Psych crew is pretty efficient so likely it will be. Some of last filmed episode will be in studio. It’s a matter of chance to find them on location but local fans will be looking in the final week+ of filming.
Planning a trip to Vancouver. How do I find shoot schedule for Psych?
There is no public shooting schedule for Psych. But sometimes a filming notice gives locals two or three days notice about where they’ll be. I share those on Twitter when I find them. And I’ll keep doing that because I know this is probably the last season and there’s only a month or so left.
I can tell you that they were filming at UBC’s Main Mall on Tuesday July 16th. No idea where they are now, though. Good luck!
