Scheduling setbacks have plagued dinosaurs-run-amok-in-Vancouver series Primeval: New World from the start. It debuted in Canada last autumn on the night that Superstorm Sandy wreaked havoc on the New York City area. And had its succesful run in the U.S. this summer interrupted by a third airing of Syfy’s Twitter sensation Sharknado. And today the American channel is airing the remaining six episodes in a Finale Marathon. All six are worth seeing. Breakthrough reunites former Eureka bad boy physicist Zane turned dino-hunter software genius Evan Cross (lead Niall Matter) with former Eureka Sheriff turned Howard Hughes-esque brainiac Howard Kanan (guest star Colin Ferguson). Leggy returns in The Great Escape, filmed at the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre at the University of British Columbia and directed by Amanda Tapping. And the two-part finale The Sound of Thunder is spectacular, filmed in the Britannia Mines museum and nearby where Cross (Matter) and partner Dylan Weir (Sara Canning) deal with multiple anomalies and some very large VFXed time-travelling creatures.
