Almost Human filmed in and around the Chan Centre at the University of British Columbia (UBC) for two days this week. Filming seemed to be mostly inside but I caught one exterior scene yesterday of half-robot human John Kennex (Karl Urban) and half-human robot Dorian (Michael Ealy) walking down the stairs in synchronicity to the entrance guarded by two “synthetic” Los Angeles police officers. Before filming, a laughing Ealy took a photo of a Star Trek fan with Urban (just back from a Star Trek appearance at Fan Expo Canada in Toronto) at the top of the stairs.

Walking back up the stairs for the second take, Karl Urban made a joke of being winded by the climb.
