SHOOT: Dylan Bruce (Hot Paul), Katie Cassidy & David Ramsey Film ARROW at the Vancouver Art Gallery – Updated

Arrow had a wide open shoot on the north plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery today. I almost collided with Willa Holland (Thea Queen) skipping off in the direction of Pacific Centre on a break as I approached the set. Others spotted Colton Haynes (Roy Harper). And star Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen/Arrow) and his pregnant wife Cassandra Jean strolled past me, takeout coffees in hand.

The scene: on the north steps District Attorney lawyers Adam Donner (Orphan Black’s Dylan Bruce aka Hot Paul) and Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) watch a press scrum [of Oliver and Thea entering the courthouse for their mother Moira Queen’s trial. Only Diggle (David Ramsey) was in the scrum when I was watching.]

Then Arrow brought in an ambulance for what seemed to be a scene with background performers only, except for an unnoticed EMS worker who looked a lot like the Count (Seth Gabel) in disguise. Could the Count be a little less crazy and back in the mix as a villain in Starling City? I can’t confirm, but this EMS worker chatted with the director in the video village and was picked up by a driver.

Around the same time, another driver dropped off Susanna Thompson (Moira Queen) and Teryl Rothery (Cedar Cove’s Grace), who headed into the Gallery together for what appeared to be courtroom scenes in the annex. Who’s on trial? If it’s Moira Queen that would explain why almost all the main cast were spotted in the area, except for Emily Bett Rickards and Paul Blackthorne.

Arrow season 2 premieres on Wednesday, October 9th, on The CW in the U.S. and CTV in Canada.
