UPDATED and REVISED:
Inception co-stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy will reunite for revenge thriller The Revenant this Fall, which is expected to start filming in [Alberta and B.C.] in late September, according to today’s BC Production List.
Variety reported that Domhnall Gleeson (Star Wars/Harry Potter) is in talks to join the cast.
Helmed by director Alejandro González Iñárritu and lensed by Oscar-winning Gravity cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki, this A-list feature is about 19th century fur trapper Hugh Glass (DiCaprio) bent on revenge after being left for dead by a mercenary (Tom Hardy) after a bear attack. Iñárritu and Mark L. Smith adapted Michael Punke’s novel for the screen.
The Revenant is expected to film in [Alberta and B.C.] from September 29th to March 26th next year (dates subject to change).
[While very little of the movie is expected to film in Vancouver] The Inception co-stars are familiar with the city: Leonardo DiCaprio produced Red Riding Hood here and Tom Hardy played one of two Reese Witherspoon romancers in This Means War and got a tattoo or two on Main Street.
