ABC’s alien invasion drama The Whispers shot scenes of FBI child specialist Claire Bennigan (Lily Rabe) chasing John Doe/Drew Bennigan (Milo Ventimiglia) west on Pender Street and down the steps of Oceanic Plaza today in downtown Vancouver. How did Drew lose his memory? Makeup people artfully dishevelled Ventimiglia so that he was unrecognizable to the many downtown workers who passed by him without a second glance at lunchtime. From Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment, which also produces filmed-in-Vancouver Falling Skies and shares some of its crew, this mid-season series is about aliens who come to Earth and possess our children to use them against the rest of humanity. Based on a Ray Bradbury short story called Zero Hour, the 13-episode series is expected to air mid-season.
