The Dragons’ Den auditions tour comes to Vancouver today — Valentine’s Day, February 14th — with local entrepreneurs vying for a chance to pitch their business ideas to five Canadian business moguls known as the Dragons.

But you won’t get to pitch to my favourite Dragon — David Chilton, the Wealthy Barber.
In his three seasons on the show, Chilton closed 22 deals, several with B.C. entrepreneurs like Victoria’s Hand and Beak specialty greeting cards. Click here to see Mary McQueen and Luigi the Lovebird make their pitch.
And he did it with grace and charm unlike some of the more bombastic Dragons.
I spoke with David Chilton a couple of times about the process — how they tape all the shows in a single month, which means wearing the same suit for a month for continuity. He will be hard to replace.
