Bravo renewed its dramedy series Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce today for a second season of thirteen episodes which are expected to start filming in Vancouver this summer. From showrunner Marti Noxon and based on books by Vicki Iovine, Bravo’s first original series is a contemporary and fun take on a woman tackling life after divorce with the help of her girlfriends. Best-selling self-help author Abby (House’s Lisa Edelstein) navigates her new life in Los Angeles as a single Mom in her early forties as her husband (Paul Adelstein) hooks up with a CW actress.  Not surprisingly, Abby finds advice from her divorced friends lawyer Lyla (Janeane Garofalo) and former model Phoebe (Beau Garrett) more relevant than her married ones and that leads to some big changes.

GG2D’s first season filmed around Vancouver from early June to late October in locations like the Rosewood Georgia Hotel and various night spots like Ginger 62  with Kitsilano playing residential L.A. neighbourhoods and the empty Nokia building in Glenlyon Business Park as the kids’ school.

Abby (Lisa Edlestein) hooks up with her own younger man (Warren Christoper) in the series premiere.

And later endures a bad kiss from her emotional lover Nate (C. Thomas Howell) on this Kitsilano porch followed by bad sex.

  1. I watched all the series season 1 this weekend and now I am dying for season 2 when does it air in Canada

    1. Season 1 already aired in Canada on Friday nights on the Slice network. What a heartbreaking season finale. Just as Abby and Jake decide to give their marriage another chance….

Season 2 won’t start filming until this summer. Hopefully in Vancouver again with some shooting days in Los Angeles. But we’ll have to wait and see.
