Two things about Once Upon a Time’s Henry: he sems to be alone in Storybrooke. Where did everybody go? And he can drive — albeit not well. Stalling his Mom’s yellow VW bug.
Henry (Jared Gilmore) gets into the driver’s seat, but doesn’t drive.
A Henry double did the driving, stallings the yellow VW bug in take after take. Hence the need for two yellow VW bugs and a stunt coordinator on set.
Clearing Moncton Street of all pedestrians proved more difficult than it would have been if today wasn’t a glorious, sunny day during B.C.’s annual Spring Break. It took a lot of PAs (production assistants) asking people if they’d mind waiting five minutes. Some did mind, but Once Upon a Time managed several takes of Henry looking west down an empty street with dried leaves blowing across the road as the only sign of life. Eerie.
The camera crew set up under the Japanese Cherry tree blossoms to film Henry walking down the street solo.
Could this have something to do with Operation Mongoose?
