VFX: THE FLASH (Grant Gustin) Meets Computer-Generated Man Shark in Vancouver’s Oceanic Plaza

No wonder The Flash’s Grant Gustin was laughing last August in downtown Vancouver. He knew he was confronting a giant man-shark. We didn’t because King Shark is entirely computer-generated.

The Flash’s VFX whiz Armen Kevorkian and his Encore team created the Zoom henchman on a CW budget. Of course they did. Encore was nominated for an Emmy for their work on giant gorills GRODD last season.

But a mysterious hooded figure in black with a futuristic weapon is the one who actually stops King Shark. The Flash catches up with this man at the nearby Portal Park Pavilion.

This time I wasn’t fooled.  I could hear Tom Cavanagh laughing with Grant Gustin between takes. What I didn’t know — that Tom Cavanagh would be Harrison Wells from Earth 2.0.

We’ll find out more about Harrison Wells’s agenda next Tuesday at 8 p.m. on The CW in the U.S. and CTV in Canada.
