Did you hear a crowd screaming in Coal Harbour last night? That was indie film Colossal with Anne Hathaway filming a sequence of Koreans running in terror from a Godzilla-style monster attacking a Seoul subway station. Crew spent a couple of days setting up the prop subway station and scattering debris around Harbour Green Park for filming last night.
Colossal is Godzilla mashed with Being John Malkovich. Anne Hathaway is a woman whose mental breakdown is strangely connected to a giant Lizard terrorizing Seoul, Korea. Does she conjure the monster? After losing her job and fiance (Downton Abbey’s Dan Stevens), Gloria (Anne Hathaway) returns home where she discovers she’s connected to events in Seoul with her mind. How does someone so ordinary have such a “colossal” effect on the world?

Colossal returned to Portage Park on Sunday for an early morning scene with Anne Hathaway and Jason Sudeikis as the grown up versions of childhood friends..And then shot a flashback sequence with young actors. The boy stomps on a model in the reeds, thought to be of Korea.
