It’s Morphin’ Time in metro Vancouver. The Power Rangers movie — which lit up the streets around Gladstone Secondary School for three overnights this week — shared a cast photo today on its Instagram account. The new Rangers are on a rock in what looks like the Pitt River Quarries.
Who’s missing? The villainous Rita Repulsa (Elizabeth Banks).
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers have been around since the early 1990s.The pop culture phenomenon launched in 1993 as a TV series about a group of teens who can morph into super-powered primary-coloured warriors and is still in production two decades later, with an ever-changing cast. More than 200 actors have been on the series, including Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston as a voice actor, Amy Jo Johnson, Brandon McLaren, Eka Darville, Adelaide Kane and iZombie’s Rose McIver as a Yellow Ranger (production of the TV series moved to New Zealand in 2003).

Dean Israelite will direct the film based on a script by Ashley Miller and Zack Stenz and franchise creator Haim Saban will produce.
Filming started in Vancouver on Monday, February 29th, and is expected to wrap May 25th (dates subject to change) with the production code SHIRT via the Directors Guild of Canada-BC Production List.
The name of the production is Shirts or Power Rangers but the Production Code is actually SPC, which stands for Shirts Production Canada. If u happen to see them filming, you may see some traffic cones with the words SHIRT on them. But for the actual production code, SPC, are shown on the neon arrows that point to set.
SHIRT is on the Filming Notifications. SPC is on the signs.
