Netflix’s eight-episode half-hour comedy Haters Back Off — based on videos by Colleen Ballinger-Evans — filmed wildly popular youtube character Miranda Sings at a staged parade in Port Coquitlam today. Ballinger-Evans and her brother developed Miranda Sings — an overconfident but untalented and deluded young woman who succeeds simply because she believes she was born to be a celebrity — into a show.

Angela Kinsey (The Office) plays Miranda’s mother; Steve Little is Miranda’s uncle; Erik Stocklin is Miranda’s neighbour and best friend.

Haters Back Off started filming April 18th in Port Coquitlam and is expected to wrap June 3rd (date subject to change) in metro Vancouver, according to the DGC-BC Production List. Production sign: BLP2.
