Hallmark is back in production.

Some of the BC film industry’s 35,000 crew are back to work after a lengthy Covid-19 shutdown as twelve TV movies (some not for Hallmark) start production this month and next.

One TV movie — For Better or Worse — has already wrapped in Kelowna.

Beverly Hills Wedding starts filming today in Vancouver. And eOne’s Love N Romance, Oregon with American director Danny J. Boyle starts today in Kelowna.

Hallmark’s The Aurora Teagarden Mysteries is back filming a new instalment in mid-July.

Almost all of the TV movies have Canadian directors and crews. Any cast, directors, creators or crew from outside Canada have to do the government-mandated 14-day quarantine before heading to set.

How will they handle romance in the Covid era?

Hallmark series When Calls the Heart is facing the same issues filming Elizabeth Thatcher’s love triangle with Mountie Nathan Grant and saloon owner Lucas Bouchard. Season 8 starts production July 20th.
