Santa Barbara Police Chief Carlton Lassiter (Timothy Omundson) is ambushed on the job and left for dead. In a vintage Psych-style Hitchcockian nod, he begins to see impossible happenings around his recovery clinic. Shawn and Gus (James Roday Rodriguez & Dule Hill) return to Lassie’s side in Santa Barbara and are forced to navigate the personal, the professional, and possibly the supernatural. Separated from their new lives in San Francisco, our heroes find themselves unwelcome in their old stomping grounds as they secretly untangle a twisted case without the benefit of the police, their loved ones, or the quality sourdough bakeries of the Bay Area. What they uncover will change the course of their relationships forever.

We managed to bring back I would say about 80 percent of our original crew. Everybody was there for the first time that Tim set foot back on a set. It was really beautiful because we were a family and it was absolutely the right way for him to do it and he could not have had more support and love behind him. — Rodriguez recalled for EW.

It was just so moving just seeing him back in Vancouver, back on set…You can’t have Psych without Lassie. — Dule Hill recalled for EW.

Psych 2 filmed all over Vancouver with a shoot at a California-style mansion in Ladner.
