The Flash started filming season 7 in Vancouver today after a week’s pause because of delayed Covid-19 test results.
Revised filming dates: October 9th to May 19th 2021.

Season 7: After a thrilling cliffhanger which saw the new Mirror Master victorious and still-at-large in Central City, The Flash must regroup in order to stop her and find a way to make contact with his missing wife, Iris. With help from the rest of Team Flash — which includes Caitlin Snow, Cisco Ramon and Nash Wells, as well as the Flash’s adoptive father Joe West, meta-attorney Cecile Horton, tough cub reporter Allegra Garcia and brilliant tech-nerd Chester P. Runk — Flash will ultimately defeat Mirror Master. But in doing so, he’ll also unleash an even more powerful and devastating threat on Central City: one that threatens to tear his team — and his marriage — apart.

Where did we leave the Flash?
Season 6 of The Flash ended prematurely with episode 19 instead of episode 22, due to the coronavirus production shutdown.The show plans to roll over the last three episodes of season 6 (85% of episode 20 was shot before the shutdown) into the first three episodes of season 7 .
In the premature season 6 finale, Eva McCulloch escaped the Mirrorverse, became the Mirror Mistress, killed her husband Joseph, framed Sue Dearbon for the murder and took back her company McCulloch Technologies.
Iris acclimated to the Mirroverse, figured out where Chief Singh was and when it all became too much started refracting light like a prism and disappeared.

Is Iris’s broken mind taunting her with the prospect of never escaping the Mirrorverse?
It’ll be interesting to see when she comes out [of the Mirrorverse] and I believe she’ll come out very soon when we pick up in season 7….how she’s been affected being stuck in the maddening world with this super villain …obviously Team Flash and Barry were working to get her out…it took a while and I don’t know whether there is some resentment there…some residual effect of being in this mirror world and seeing things backwards. — Candice Patton at DC FanDome panel.
Wrapping up Ralph Digby/Elongated Man’s story:
Since Ralph/Elongated Man can change faces and his appearance, he can appear as a different actor at the top of season 7 to wrap up the Sue Dearborn storyline.
Technically it would be a recasting, but the character won’t be a big part of season 7… We’re going to do it in a way that I think honours the spirit of the character and provides not only a satisfying conclusion to Sue’s murder mystery, but also it’s done with some humour. — Eric Wallace told EW.

What will Barry do about the loss of his speed?

Barry tries to build an artificial Speed Force as a super-sonic plane crashs into Central City.
He really misses [his powers] especially with Iris being trapped in the Mirrorverse & then Eva being a factor. …He genuinely not just wants his powers back, he feels he needs them back. After the last three episodes of Season 6 are filmed, The Flash will go right into the next Big Bad’s story in the fourth episode.
Why white-and-gold speedster Godspeed?
I want to make sure new fans — especially young new fans who are reading the comic book right now — are welcomed to the show, so it’s not just Silver Age villains and Bronze Age villains.There might be a young girl or a young boy who is reading those Flash comics right now and going, Where’s my villain? Is The Flash’s one true Godspeed a woman?
Let’s just say there was a certain speedster who wore a white costume whose clones kept showing up. Team Flash had to deal with that but we never caught the real guy or girl. We might find out that mystery this season. Eric Wallace at DC FanDome.
In DC Comics lore, Godspeed is the speedster alter-ego of August Heart, a former CCPD colleague of Barry Allen’s and a new crime-fighting partner. But after Hearst’s brother is murdered, he turns evil.

So far in The Flash Godspeed and the drones have all been male.
We met the show’s first faux Godspeed in season 5 when Barry and Iris’s daughter Nora from the future took on a villainous August Heart in 2049. He was a speedster robbing chemical trucks and plants for the ingredients to artificial speed, Velocity 9.

Nora and her timeline were wiped out in the season 5 finale and we met four new faux Godspeeds –who couldn’t speak and only emitted a high frequency sound — in the season 6 premiere of The Flash.
In season 6’s second-to-last filmed episode, The Flash battles another faux Godspeed with the Pied Piper’s help.
