Netflix’s Live-Action AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER Starts Filming in Vancouver

Netflix’s live-action adaption of Avatar: The Last Airbender started production in Vancouver today.

Avatar: The Last Airbender: Aang and his friends must save the world by defeating Fire Lord Ozai and ending the destructive war with the Fire Nation. 

With Gordon Cormier as Aang the Avatar, master of all four elements; Kiawentiio as water bender Katara; Ian Ousley as her brother Sokka; Dallas Liu as fire bender Zuko and Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai.

Working title: Trade Winds.

Filming dates: November 16th to May 17th, 2022.

New showrunner: Albert Kim.

Original co-creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko exited Netflix’s live-adaption.

Cast: Gordon Cormier, Kiawentiio, Ian Ousley, Dallas Liu and Daniel Dae Kim.

Cast and producers on set in Vancouver.

Gordon Cormier is fun-loving 12-year-old Aang, an airbending prodigy who happens to be the Avatar, a master of all four elements.

Kiawentiio is 14-year-old Katara, the last waterbender in her village.

Ian Ousley is Katara’s 16-year-old brother Sokka, the leader of his tribe.

Dallas Liu is fire bender Zuko, the exiled Crown Prince of the Fire Nation on a quest to capture the Avatar to appease his cruel father, the Fire Lord.

Daniel Dae Kim is Fire Lord Ozai, driven leader of the Fire Nation where he demands everyone live up to his impossible standards.
