Elijah Wood Joins YELLOWJACKETS Season 2 Filming in Vancouver
Welcome back to Vancouver Elijah Wood..
The Lord of the Rings star willl play a dedicated citizen detective named Walter on season two of Yellowjackets, which starts filming at the end of the month.
It’s a season-long guest-starring arc, with Walter challenging Christina Ricci’s Misty in ways she won’t see coming.
Wood was last in Vancouver co starring in Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency as Dirk’s reluctant sidekick Todd. The sci-fi detective comedy ran for two seasons on BBC America: :from the Fall of 2016 to the Fall of 2017.
Yellowjackets is about a group of survivors from a girls’ high-school soccer team who 25 years ago were stranded deep in the wilderness after a plane crash and forced to go feral to survive.
Target filming dates: August 30 2022 – February 17 2023.

What can we expect in season 2?
Yellowjackets ended season one with winter coming and the ostracized Jackie (Ella Purnell) freezing to death outside. Plus in a foreshadowing of the pilot’s Antler Queen and her cult’s ritualistic cannibal scene, we watched young Lottie (Courtney Eaton) place a bear’s heart at a forest altar, flanked by young Misty and Van (Liv Hewson)

Showrunners have dubbed season 2 as The Winter of Their Discontent and plan to get creative with their winter storyline and make it as winter-heavy as they can which shouldn’t be hard in a BC Fall.
Showrunners also promise we will find out who is blackmailing the Yellowjackets in present day.
Filming in Vancouver:
Season One filmed in metro Vancouver in the summer last year from early May to late September and was spotted on location at the iconic 2400 Motel on Kingsway in Vancouver and on the grounds of Panther Paintball in Surrey.
Yellowjackets has been a sensation for Showtime, with ever-growing viewership and acclaim, making several Best of 2021 lists, a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, a Critics’ Choice Award for Melanie Lynskey and capping season one with seven Emmy nominations, including an Outstanding Drama Series nomination.
