CBS Renews Max Thieriot’s FIRE COUNTRY For Season 2 of Filming in Vancouver

CBS renews its hit series Fire Country, inspired by Max Thieriot’s experiences growing up in Northern California fire country, for season 2 of filming in Vancouver.

How big a hit is Fire Country? In this era of diminishing audiences for network TV, Fire Country has averaged 8 million viewers per episode for same-day viewing and 10 million viewers per episode for live+35-day Multiplatform viewing.

It’s pretty remarkable to see a new series resonate like this with both broadcast and streaming audiences right out of the gate. Fire Country has so many appealing entry points for the audience. It combines high-stakes action with small town charm, mystery and romance, and a family franchise at its core.  –Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, in a statement.

Fire Country follows Bode Donovan (Max Thieriot), a young convict seeking redemption and a shortened prison sentence by joining an unconventional prison release firefighting program in Northern California, where he and other inmates are partnered with elite firefighters to extinguish wildfires across the region.

But Bode is assigned to the program in his rural hometown, where his mother Cheryl (Diane Farr) is a Cal Fire board member and his father is Fire Chief Vince Donovan (Billy Burke).

Showrunner: Tia Napolitano.

Cast: Max Thieriot, Billy Burke, Kevin Alejandro, Diane Farr, Stephanie Arcila, Jordan Calloway, Jules Latimer, W. Tré Davis, Michael Trucco, Ty Olsson.
