BC-Filmed MAID Back in Netflix’s Top 10 After Trending on TikTok

Netflix’s acclaimed single-mother-turned-maid series Maid, starring Margaret Qualley, is back in Netflix’s Top 10 TV shows after trending on TikTok.

Released on October 1st, 2021, Maid became an unexpected phenomenon that Fall, quickly surpassing The Queen’s Gambit as Netflix’s most-watched limited series and joining Stranger Things Season 3, Bridgerton, The Witcher and 13 Reasons Why on Netflix’s Top 10 TV (English) list, with 469 million hours viewed in its first 28 days.

Maid follows the story of Alex Russell (Margaret Qualley), a single mother who turns to housecleaning to — barely — make ends meet as she escapes an abusive relationship and overcomes homelessness to create a better life for her daughter, Maddy (Rylea Nevaeh Whittet).

Inspired by Stephanie Land’s memoir Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will to Survive.

Margaret Qualley was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie at the 2022 Emmys.
