Alec Mercer (Jesse L Martin). a world-renowned professor of behavioral science, lends his expertise to an array of high-stakes cases involving governments, law enforcement, and corporations with his unique and unexpected approach to understanding human behavior.
The Irrational premieres this Fall on NBC on Mondays at 10 p.m. after The Voice.
How is this American series still in production during a WGA (Writers Guild of America) strike?
The scripts are “locked” — written in advance of the strike. And production started early this Spring instead of in the summer, so that there would be enough completed episodes to air this Fall.
For now The Irrational plans to keep rolling into the summer, but that may change if picket lines come north.

Cast: Jesse L. Martin, Maahra Hill, Travina Springer, Molly Kunz, Arash DeMaxi.
Jesse L. Martin is a behavioural science professor Alec Mercer who works on cases with governments & corporations.
Maahra Hill is FBI agent Marisa, who finds herself teaming up with Alec on cases.
Travina Springer is Alec’s younger sister Kylie.
Molly Kunz is Alec’s protege Phoebe, pursing her master’s degree in psychology.
Arash DeMaxi is psychology grad student Owen.
