STAR TREK DAY: How Big a Hit is Toronto-Shot STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS?

How big a hit is Paramount+’s Star Trek prequel series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds starring Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike? Seven of its ten episodes in season 2 made Nielsen’s Top 10 Original Streaming Shows charts, including the season premiere, Lower Decks crossover, musical episode and cliffhanger finale.

This was the best showing for a Paramount+ original series on the Nielsen charts since the season 3 finale of Star Trek: Picard in May. The only other Paramount+ show to make the Top 10 since Nielsen began tracking Paramount+ series earlier this year was Yellowstone prequel 1923.

There is no Nielsen data for season one, but Paramount+ claims the inaugural season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds performed better than any Star Trek show to date.

So In honour of Star Trek Day, CBS is broadcasting the first two episodes of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds tonight.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds follows the voyages of Capt. Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) on the U.S.S. Enterprise, which predate the voyages of Capt. James T. Kirk on the U.S.S. Enterprise.
