Based on the novels by Robyn Carr, Virgin River follows Melinda “Mel” Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge), a nurse and midwife who moves to the small California town from Los Angeles after her husband Mark dies.
There she falls for restaurant/bar owner and former marine Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson). Season 5 starts with Mel and Jack in a good place — engaged and expecting a baby.

Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos visited the clinic set in studio last Fall in Vancouver.
Ten episodes of Virgin River season 5 are now streaming on Netflix. Two holiday episodes drop November 30th.
Virgin River is renewed for season 6 but production in B.C. is delayed because of the ongoing WGA Writers strike and SAG-AFTRA Performers strike — a rare double strike.
