Season 3 of Apple TV+’s alien Invasion series starts filming in Vancouver.
In Invasion, Earth is visited by an alien species that threatens humanity’s existence. Events unfold in real time through the eyes of ordinary people across the globe as they struggle to make sense of the chaos unraveling around them.
The characters:
Sam Neill’s Sheriff John Bell Tyson was killed off in the series premiere. Golshifteh Farahani ‘s Aneesha Malik is a Syrian immigrant, wife and mother living in Long Island. Shamier Anderson’s Trevante Ward is a soldier stationed in Afghanistan. Shioli Kutsuna’s Mitsuki,is a member of mission control in Japan’s space program JASA. Billy Barratt’s Caspar Morrow is a teen boy in the UK.
Season 2 saw the aliens escalating their attacks in an all-out war.
I saw, . . .season 3 like the back half of the second act of a movie where now the action is really accelerated and the challenges are massive and seem insurmountable. Then if, God willing, we were to have a fourth season, that’s where, for me, it would be the third act of just final conflict and everything erupting, and then resolving. So there was a build, and it did mimic in many ways the structure of a movie. — Simon Kinberg.
I’m so proud of what we’ve been able to do with our first two seasons of the show with our partners at Apple TV+ and our cast and crew,. This new season will continue to build on the scale, stakes, and propulsion of the ‘Invasion,’ while keeping our characters front and center, bringing them together in ways that will hopefully surprise and most importantly move our audience, who have been so incredibly supportive and inspiring since day one. — Simon Kinberg.
