THE LAST OF US’s Pedro Pascal on Vanity Fair Hollywood Cover

Pedro Pascal is everywhere, including Vancouver for season 2 of The Last of Us.

The role that changed my life was in Game of Thrones. I will always credit its creators for taking a chance on someone who had nothing but unknown theater credits and episodic television on their résumé. I still awe at the opportunity that was handed to me by David Benioff, Dan Weiss, and Carolyn Strauss. Without Thrones, I would not have had Narcos, The Mandalorian, or The Last of Us — Pedro Pascal to Vanity Fair.

Here’s Pascal on the cover of Vanity Fair for its annual Hollywood issue.

On Sunday night, Pedro Pascal accepted the People’s Choice Award for Male TV Star from his suite in Vancouver. He thanked everyone involved in season one of The Last of Us (which filmed in Alberta) and the fans, most of all.

I’m in Vancouver right now….I’ll start by recognizing the incredible fortune of having been chosen by the incredible creators of the show Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, our executive producer Caroline Strauss, and to be with Bella Ramsey leading me through it … I wouldn’t have a character without them and and we wouldn’t have a show if it weren’t for our incredible crew so a huge shoutout to them. But the biggest fortune is to receive this award on behalf of the people and fans….it’s all about you. It’s all that we want, to share it all with you. So you have my deepest gratitude. Thank you and peace. — Pedro Pascal.

Production of season 2 began on February 12th in British Columbia.with co-creator Craig Mazin in the Director’s Chair.

What is The Last of Us?

The Last of Us takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed by a fungal pandemic. Joel (Pedro Pascal), a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle teen Ellie (Bella Ramsey) out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey as they both must traverse across the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.

Season one left us with Joel and Ellie heading back to Jackson, Wyoming, a thriving community of survivors from the fungal pandemic led by Joel’s brother Tommy Miller (Gabriel Luna).
