M. Night Shyamalan’s TRAP With FirstOntario Centre As Sinister Event Venue

FirstOntario Centre

M. Night Shyamalan’s 16th thriller Trap opens on August 2nd with Hamilton’s FirstOntario Centre playing the pop concert venue, where a father and his teen daughter find themselves trapped in a dark and sinister event.

Josh Harnett, Haley Mills and Marney McPhail star in the movie which filmed in Ontario last Fall under the working title Good Grades.

M. Night Shyamalan’s movies have grossed $3.3 billion at the box office, starting with three big hits — Sixth Sense, Unbreakable and Signs — followed by four pricey misfires.

Once Shyamalan returned to smaller Indie budgets, his audience returned too, with this year’s release Knock at the Cabin marking his seventh #1 opening weekend at the box office.

Save Your Family or Save Humanity. Make the Choice.

This is how the prolific Philadelphia filmmaker described Trap:

It’s a thriller. It’s very unusual and very new compared to what I’ve been trying to do [recently], but I’m feeling very excited about the story . . .[it] might be something that you’ve seen before but the angle is very, very unique – the point of view. — M. Night Shyamalan teased NME.

There’s room for it on his viewfinder.
