Jennifer Morrison in Prep to Direct YELLOWJACKETS in Vancouver

Jennifer Morrison, who spent six seasons in Vancouver starring as Once Upon a Time’s Emma Swan, returns to direct a season three episode of Yellowjackets.

Morrison has helmed episodes of Euphoria, One of Us is Lying, Joe Pickett, Surface, Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies and Dr. Death, so a series about teens going cannibal in the wilderness seems like a good fit..

Yellowjackets is about a group of survivors from a girls’ high-school soccer team who 25 years ago were stranded deep in the Canadian wilderness after a plane crash and forced to go feral to survive.

After a long delay, production on season 3 got underway a month ago and survival in the wilderness looks warmer for our teen survivors.

Yellowjackets season 3 has been spotted on the grounds of Panther Paintball in Surrey — is this the new wilderness camp for the stranded teens?

Where did we leave Yellowjackets at the end of season 2?

Season 2 of the Emmy-nominated cult hit ended with the teen survivors in 1996 without shelter in the winter wilderness and the adult survivors in 2021 mourning the death of one of their own in a ritualistic hunt gone wrong.

Teens stranded in the wilderness in 1996.

The Yellowjackets have to find another shelter in season 3, after the cabin (a soundstage set in Vancouver) burned to the ground.

Teen Van (Liv Hewson), teen Taissa (Jasmin Savoy Brown), teen Natalie (Sophie Thatcher), teen Misty (Sammi Hanratty), teen Shauna (Sophie Nélisse) and teen Lottie (Courtney Eaton) watch it burn.

At least the Wilderness chose a new Antler Queen to lead them: teen Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) who survived the group’s first ritualistic hunt by letting someone else die in her place.

Adult survivors at Lottie’s Compound in 2021:

The adult survivors reenacted a ritualistic hunt from the wilderness at Lottie’s compound Camp Green Pine with tragic results.

Adult Misty (Christina Ricci), adult Natalie (Juliette Lewis), adult Taissa (Tawny Cypress), adult Van (Lauren Ambrose) and adult Lottie (Simone Kessell) masked up and ready to go. Adult Shauna (Melanie Lynskey) was hunted..

But adult Natalie (Juliette Lewis) is the one who died — to save someone else’s life.

Lottie returned to a psych ward as Camp Green Pine (played by Camp Howdy in Belcarra) shut down.

I’m sorry we’ve left … or, we will be leaving. Our gates are closed … and we’ll be in the darkness again soon. — Lisa (Nicole Maine)’s voice on the show’s (607) 478-1033, answering machine message for Lottie’s Sunshine Honey Wellness Centre.
