Joel McHale, who just wrapped filming season 3 of Animal Control in Vancouver, is guest-starring on season 3 of everyone’s favourite cannibal show Yellowjackets.
Yellowjackets is about a group of survivors from a girls’ high-school soccer team who 25 years ago were stranded deep in the Canadian wilderness after a plane crash and forced to go feral to survive.
Joel McHale’s role is not disclosed but it’s likely he plays a part in the adult survivor storyline.
[Season 3 will be] even more shocking and surprising than the previous seasons. It’s definitely going to be brutal. But they also put a lot of comedy into it. So I think it’s just going to be … extremely Yellowjackets-y — Christina Ricci told The Hollywood Reporter in June..

Yellowjackets is the saga of a team of wildly talented high school girls soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness. The series chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team to savage clans, while also tracking the lives they’ve attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never really past and what began out in the wilderness is far from over.

Where did we leave Yellowjackets at the end of season 2?
Teen survivors in the Wilderness in 1996:
Season 2 of the Emmy-nominated cult hit ended with the teen survivors in 1996 without shelter in the winter wilderness and the adult survivors in 2021 mourning the death of one of their own in a ritualistic hunt gone wrong.
At least the Wilderness chose a new Antler Queen to lead them: teen Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) who survived the group’s first ritualistic hunt by letting someone else die in her place.
