Teen Van and teen Shauna give two very different recaps about what’s happened since the Yellowjackets girls soccer team’s plane crashed in the wilderness for a season 3 sneak peek.
Yellowjackets is about a group of survivors from a girls’ high-school soccer team who 20+ years ago were stranded deep in the Canadian wilderness after a plane crash and forced to go feral to survive.
Season 2 of the BC-filmed series ended with the Yellowjackets cabin shelter burning to the ground in the Wilderness. Season 3 starts months later in a new Wilderness camp with teepees.
Teen Van (Liv Hewson)’s recap:
On the verge of making history, by sweeping Nationals without giving up a single goal, thanks to the raddest goalkeeper in the history of the sport, our heroes — no sheroes — were robbed of fame and fortune by the cruel hand of fate and by mechanical failure or possibly pilot error, unclear. But no mere plane crash could keep our intrepid girls, and a few dudes, down. No, they rose to this new challenge like the champions they were always meant to be.
But with their sacrifices came miracles. They survived hunger. They survived blizzards. They survived the shit bucket. Now could they survive an unthinkable attack by a raging psychopath, a homicidal monster, masquerading as a hot, if you’re into that kind of thing, high school soccer coach.? You bet your ass they could. Now thanks to their unlikely new leader they worked for 12 days and nights to feed the very fire that destroyed their home. And seeing their courage and their faith, the Wilderness then provided the greatest miracle yet — Spring came and with it a new beginning.
Thanks to Nat’s training, Jen provided game to eat. Thanks to Tai they were able to build new shelters. Thanks to the fact that they are a team, they never gave up hope. Their story does not end here — Van.
Teen Shauna (Sophie Nélisse)’s recap:
God I f*ckin’ hate them. Like I’m sorry I’m not psyched to hear some bullshit story about our adventures in the woods. My best friend is dead. My baby is dead. I held his body when it was covered in my blood. and then I had to put his corpse out into the cold while everyone else talked about f*cking sacrifices and miracles.
How’s this story for you? Once upon a time a bunch of teenage girls got stranded in the Wilderness and went completely f*cking nuts. They worshipped evil spirits and hunted their friends and they feasted on them and they f*ckin’ liked it. So they told themselves stupid fairy tales and pretended they were brave and strong because the reality is that even if rescue came they could never go home again., because of what they’d done, because of what they’d become.– teen Shauna.
Season 3: The Past.
Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) was the new Antler Queen of the teen survivors at the end of season 2.
But there seems to be a leadership shakeup.
You’re not in charge anymore. — teen Shauna to teen Natalie.
In another scene, teen Shauna bites Mari (Alexa Barajas).
Season 3: The Present:
Still reeling from adult Natalie’s death, the survivors are forced to uncover secrets they thought were buried for good.
The past has come back to hunt them. Season 2 ended with them mourning the death of adult Natalie (Juliette Lewis) during a ritualistic hunt gone wrong.
But now someone is trying to kill them. Is it adult Misty (Christina Ricci)? There’s a scene in the trailer of Misty seemingly stabbing Shauna.
And if that’s not enough, Shauna’s daughter Callie (Sarah Desjardins) wants to know what really happened in the Wilderness.
Think about how screwed up we would be if we had survived a plane crash only to end up eating each other — adult Misty tries to gaslight Callie who’s having none of it.
Some fans are predicting Hilary Swank’s character will be the adult version of teen survivor Melissa.

Teen Jackie (Fallout star Ella Purnell) continues to haunt adult Shauna.
[Season 3 will be] even more shocking and surprising than the previous seasons. It’s definitely going to be brutal. But they also put a lot of comedy into it. So I think it’s just going to be … extremely Yellowjackets-y — Christina Ricci told The Hollywood Reporter last June..
Season 3 wrapped production in Vancouver last October.

Yellowjackets season 3 was spotted in mid-May on the grounds of Panther Paintball in Surrey —the new wilderness camp for the stranded teens.
Fans met Sammi Hanratty visiting the adult survivors cast on a downtown Vancouver set.
