Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians won Best Young Teen series at the Children’s and Family Emmy Awards tonight , over fellow nominees Goosebumps, Heartstopper, One Piece and The Spiderwick Chronicles.
Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth Chase, Adam Copeland as the God of War Ares and the late Lance Reddick as the God Zeus were nominated for their performances in the BC-filmed adaption of Rick Riordan’s book series.
Cast on set for season one in Vancouver.
In season one, Percy Jackson, the demigod son of Poseidon, is accused of stealing Zeus’s lightning bolt. Percy sets out on a quest with his friends Annabeth Chase (Leah Sava Jeffries) and Grover Underwood (Aryan Simhadri) to uncover the truth and save his mother from the Underworld.
Season 2 , adapted from Rick Riordan’s second book The Sea of Monsters, wrapped filming early this year in Vancouver and will premiere this December on Disney+.
And season 3, adapted from Rick Riordan’s third book The Titan’s Curse, is expected to go into production this summer in Vancouver.
