Who is Pit Girl?
Things come full circle in the BC-filmed Yellowjackets season 3 finale as the Wilderness timeline catches up with the Winter hunt and cannibal feast depicted in the opening sequence of the series.
Yellowjackets is about a group of survivors from a girls’ high-school soccer team who 25 years ago were stranded deep in the Canadian wilderness after a plane crash and went feral.
Episode 3×110 Full Circle : Things turn frigid as bloody new alliances get built and spilled. It’s our time, right now, down here in the new Queen’s court. Eat up, drink deep, and descend.
In the series premiere, we saw a dark-haired girl (shot with a stunt woman) running barefoot through snowy woods until she fell into a pit, where she was impaled by wooden spikes and died.
Then we saw girls wearing masks and animal fur prepare, cook and eat the girl in a ritualistic feast presided over by an Antler Queen .
Fans have long predicted that Pit Girl is Mari (Alexa Barajas) because of her long dark hair and similar build.
But the introduction of dark-haired frog scientist Hannah (Ashley Sutton) who was captured by the Yellowjackets halfway through season 3, gives fans a possible new Pit Girl . Hannah’s murder of her Wilderness guide Kodiak (Joel McHale) last week by throwing a knife into his eye made her one of the tribe under teen Shauna (Sophie Nélisse)’s rule,
Update: Mari was the Pit Girl and teen Shauna the Antler Queen.

Yellowjackets filmed the hunt on the grounds of Panther Paintball in Surrey with fake snow.
The night time cannibal feast was shot in studio.

In the adult survivor timeline the big question is Who Killed Lottie?
Simone Kessell returned for the season finale to shoot events leading up to her character’s death.
Update: As fans predicted, Shauna’s daughter Caillie killed adult Lottie, pushing her down the stairs.
Season 3 wrapped production in Vancouver last October.
Three-and-a-half weeks before the wrap, Melanie Lynskey aka adult survivor Shauna hosted a “very fun nearly-the-end-of-the-season dinner’ for the cast.
