Lew Einstein (Matthew Gray Gubler), the brilliant but directionless great grandson of Albert Einstein spends his days as a comfortably tenured professor at Princeton until his bad boy antics land him in trouble with the law and he is pressed into service helping a local police detective solve her most puzzling cases.

The pilot shot in Toronto earlier this year and CBS picked up Einstein to series in mid-April.

A week later, CBS decided that it would be better to delay the launch of the show a year to give it more time for development, like it did with Fire Country spinoff Sheriff Country — i.e. more scripts banked, more efficiencies in production and scheduling and more time to promote the new show.
