Daniel Dae Kim teased Fire Lord Ozai’s looming presence in the third and final season of the hit Netflix adaption of Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Production has been filming at the Avatar: The Last Airbender set on the Flavelle Mill backlot near Rocky Point in Port Moody this week — from Monday, July 21st through Saturday, July 26th.
The village, originally built as a feudal Japan set for FX’s Shogun series, played the Earth Kingdom in season 2 of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Has it been adapted as a standing set for Fire Nation now?
Daniel Dae Kim shared a photo of the season 3 cap ahead of production.
Which includes some on-lacation shooting on Iceland’s black sand beaches as Fire Nation.

What’s Avatar: The Last Airbender about?
Aang (Gordon Cormier) the last Airbender and his friends Katara (Kiawentiio) and Sokka (Ian Ousley) from the Water Tribe must save the world by defeating Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim) and ending the destructive war with the Fire Nation.
Season one ended with Aang and his companions stopping the Fire Nation — led by Prince Zuko (Dallas Lee) , his uncle Iroh (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee),and Commander Zhao (Ken Leung) — from destroying the Northern Water Tribe, but it was a distraction from the larger war.
Zuko’s sister, Princess Azula (Elizabeth Yu), conquered Omashu, one of the two Earth Kingdom cities that had managed to stave off the Fire Nation and took King Bumi (Utkarsh Ambudkar) prisoner.
In season 2, Aang and his friends Katara and Sokka recruit Toph Belfong to teach Earthbending to Aang. Their journey leads them to the capitol of the Earth Kingdom, Ba Sing Se.
In season 3, Aang learns Firebending as he and his friends race against time to prepare for a final confrontation with the Fire Lord Ozai, before the arrival of Sozin’s Comet amplifies Ozai’s powers.
