Prime Video’s hit YA series We Were Liars is renewed for season 2 of filming in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia as the private Beechwood Island off the coast of Martha’s Vineyard.
We Were Liars followed Cadence Sinclair Eastman (Emily Alyn Lind) and her tight-knit inner circle, nicknamed the Liars, during their summer escapades on her grandfather’s New England private island.
The Sinclairs are American royalty—known for their good looks, old money, and enviable bond—but after a mysterious accident changes Cadence’s life forever, everyone, including her beloved Liars, seems to have something to hide.
Season 2 will adapt e. lockhart’s We Were Liars prequel book Family of Liars, which looks at the secrets and lies of the Sinclair family through the eyes of Carrie, a generation before the events of season one.
This will take the show “deeper into the moms’ lives as well and add another generation to the story”, co-execuitve producer Julie Plec told Deadline: Hollywood.
The Moms: Caitlin FitzGerald as Penny Sinclair, Candice King as Bess Sinclair and Mamie Gummer as Carrie Sinclair.
Rahul Kohli is Carrie’s longp-time partner Ed, a Brooklyn art gallery owner who spends every summer at the Sinclair family compound.
