
Fire Country joins its spinoff Sheriff Country with an early season renewal from CBS.
Season 5 of the northern California firefighter drama Fire Country, starring Max Thieriot, will start shooting in British Columbia this summer and premiere next Fall, but with a new showrunner. Tia Napolitano is leaving after four seasons.
And season 2 of Sheriff Country, starring Morena Baccarin, will film in Ontario as the same town of Edgewater, California and premiere on the “Country Block” next Fall.
How popular are Fire Country and Sheriff Country?
Fire Country season 3 averaged 9.5 million viewers an episode in linear and streaming over 35 days, according to Nielsen.
Fire Country season 4 has dropped a bit, averaging 8 million viewers an episode in linear and streaming over 35 days so far.
The spinoff Sheriff Country keeps growing its audience and is on track to being one of the most-watched new series in its freshman season, averaging 11 million viewers an episode in linear and streaming over 35 days so far.
What’s Fire Country about?
Former convict Bode Leone (Max Thieriot) is now one of Cal Fire Station 42’s elite fire fighters, battling blazes in his hometown of Edgewater.alongside family, friends and the Three Rock inmate fire fighting program that gave him a path to redemption.
What’s Season 4 about?
Season 4 is about Station 42 facing the impact of the loss of Bode’s Dad –Cal Fire Battalion chief Vince Leone (Billy Burke) — in the Zabel Ridge fire that engulfed the Edgewater memory care centre.


The Fall finale gave us a suspect for the Zabel Ridge arson — the person ultimately responsible for the death of Bode’s Dad in the memory care centre fire. Young Tyler tells his new mentor Bode that his stepfather Landon (Josh McDermitt) could be the arsonist.

Season four returns with new episodes on Friday, February 27th.
Production on season 4 doesn’t wrap until early March.
