Next on PERCY JACKSON Season 2: Vancouver’s Own Aleks Paunovic as One-Eyed Giant Polyphemus

I had so much fun playing this dude. — Aleks Paunovic on Instagram.

Vancouver’s own Aleks Paunovic plays blind cyclops Polyphemus, who guards the Golden Fleece in the Sea of Monsters, in the next season 2 episode of Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

It took five hours a day in the makeup chair to transform Aleks Paunovic into Polyphemus, he told Entertainment Weekly

I’m putting on about 40 pounds of prosthetics for this, and the headpiece alone was about 15 pounds on top of the 40, so it was pretty extensive, but the makeup department did such a great job.

As a Vancouver-based actor, it’s not surprising that this isn’t his first time playing a cyclops in a Percy Jackson adaption. In the first movie Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, Paunovic did a background stunt running through the forest in full cyclops prosthetics.

It’s not Aleks Paunovic’s first time in a Disney+ series either. He played Ivan in Hawkeye’s popular TrackSuit Mafia.
