Season 2 of Prime Video’s Overcompensating series, loosely based on star Benito Skinner’s own life as a closeted former athlete navigating college, starts shooting this March in Toronto.
Benny, a former football player, who struggles to accept his sexuality in college, finds himself overcompensating as he tries to appear as something he’s not.

Overcompensating is a college-set ensemble comedy about the wild, chaotic journey of Benny (Benito Skinner), a closeted former football player and homecoming king, as he becomes fast friends with Carmen (Wally Baram) a high school outsider on a mission to fit in at all costs. With guidance from Benny’s older sister Grace (Mary Beth Barone) and her campus-legend boyfriend Peeter(Adam DiMarco),

Benny and Carmen juggle horrible hookups, flavored vodka, and fake IDs. Deeply funny and personal, the show explores the lengths to which we all overcompensate while on the path to finding out who we really are.

Season one ended with Benny getting angry with his friend Carman for kissing his crush Miles (Rish Shah) and Carmen accidentally outing Benny to his sister Grace and crush Miles as they walked in on the fight.
Connie Britton as Benny’s helicopter mom and struggling empty nester Kathryn.

Kyle McLaughlin as Benny’s overbearing dad John who can’t seem to move on from Benny’s high school glory days.
Benito Skinner will write, star, and executive produce the second season as he did with the first.
I have been so overwhelmed by the insane response to the show, and feel so damn lucky to go back to Yates University with Amazon MGM Studios, A24, Strong Baby, and this legendary cast for Season 2!! — Benito Skinner said in a statement.
