The Last of Us season 3 is filming inside and outside of BC Place this week, with fans speculating that the Vancouver stadium is playing the post-apocalyptic Seattle stadium that becomes the Washington Liberation Front (WLF) headquarters.

Spoiler alert: Pedro Pascal will not be on set as Kaitlyn Dever’s Abby brutally murdered his character Joel early in season 2. Witnessing his death is what sent Bella Ramsey’s Ellie on a revenge mission to Seattle.
This week’s shoot at BC Place suggests that production is catching up to events in the Seattle timeline of season 2, but from Abby’s perspective.
What is The Last of Us?
The Last of Us takes place 20+ years after modern civilization has been destroyed by the Cordyceps fungal pandemic.
In season one, Joel (Pedro Pascal), a hardened survivor, was hired to smuggle Ellie (Bella Ramsey), a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What started as a small job soon became a brutal and heartbreaking journey as they traversed the U.S. and depended on each other for survival.
Season 2 picked up five years after the events of the first season, with Joel and Ellie living in Jackson, Wyoming but estranged by a lie. Joel’s brutal death at the hands of former Firefly Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) sent Ellie to Seattle on a path of vengeance against Abby and her Washington Liberation Front (WLF) crew.
Season 3 will change perspective, following Abby on her journey to a confrontation with Ellie.
Will that shift of perspective soften Abby, who is arguably the most the most-hated video game character of all time?

Season 3 goes back in time to show us what shaped Abby’– her father’s death and later an unlikely alliance with a young Seraphite called Lev.

And we will get to know her WLF crew better –Spencer Lord as Owen, Tati Gabrielle as Nora,, Ariela Barer as Mel and Jorge Lendeborg Jr. in a recasting as the new Manny. Plus Jeffrey Wright as the ruthless WLF leader Isaac Dixon.
Ellie and her Jackson crew should join the narrative soon – Gabriel Luna as Tommy Miller ,Young Mazino as Jesse and Isabel Merced as Dina.
