Osgood Perkins’s new serial-killer thriller Hexagram, aka Longlegs 2 starring Nicolas Cage, is shooting in Vancouver in the new year with a much bigger budget (over $20 million) and major studio backing (Paramount Pictures).
The original BC-filmed Longlegs, released in July 2024, grossed US$127 million worldwide, more than ten times its indie budget of under US$10 million.

Longlegs followed FBI Agent Lee Harker (Maika Monroe), a gifted new recruit assigned to the unsolved case of an elusive serial killer (Nicolas Cage). As the case took complex turns, unearthing evidence of the occult, Harker discovered a personal connection to the merciless killer and must race against time to stop him before he claims the lives of another innocent family.
Nicolas Cage about director Oz Perkins in 2023.
I’m working with Oz [Perkins], who you probably know. He’s pretty strong in the horror genre at the moment . . .he’s actually Anthony [Perkins]’s son. He’s done some really good movies. – Nicolas Cage talks to horror icon John Carpenter for Document Journal.
Cage compared his killer to a possessed Geppetto in a twisted Pinocchio.
[Longlegs is] about a character who’s hearing voices. It’s kind of like a possessed Geppetto, who’s making these dolls.– Nicolas Cage talks to horror icon John Carpenter for Document Journal.
