Vancouver Police confirmed that Glee star Cory Monteith, 31, was found dead today at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel. Monteith was many things to many people but always a proud Vancouverite, even volunteering to be Grand Marshal of the Grey Cup parade in 2011, resulting in swarms of young Gleeks along the parade route. And a year earlier, he graciously let director Carl Bessai “tap the power of Glee” for his Vancouver indie Sisters & Brothers by starring in it as a famous movie star with real-life pal Dustin Milligan as his not-so-famous brother. Plus all his work over the years for the Project Limelight Society, a free performing arts program for young people living in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, Strathcona and Mount Pleasant.
