Osgood Perkins’s Vancouver-Shot Horror Films:

Longlegs

It started with Longlegs in the Winter of 2023. Longlegs tells the story of Maika Monroe’s young FBI Agent hunting down Nicolas Cage’s creepy-as-hell Longlegs serial killer.

Longlegs broke big in the summer of 2024, with almost US$130 million at the global box office

Keeper

After Longlegs, Perkins directed Keeper, with Tatiana Maslany and Rossif Sutherland, in the Fall of 2023, under the working title A Shadowless Horse.

The Monkey

And then Perkins directed his adaption of the Stephen King story The Monkey, starring Theo James as twins, in the Winter of 2024. The twin brothers Hal and Bill discover their father’s old monkey toy is causing a series of gruesome deaths and decide to throw it away. Years later, the deaths begin again and the brothers reunite to find a way to destroy the monkey for good.

The horror-comedy did well in the Spring of 2025, reaching almost US$70 million in global box office.

The Young People

Next up is Osgood Perkins’s bigger-budget feature The Young People currently filming in Vancouver.

The Young People stars How to Train Your Dragon’s Nico Parker, The Summer I Turned Pretty’s and Oscar-winner Nicole Kidman.
